  • Greater Fighter, Holyfield or Foreman?

I find this a difficult one. Who do you think should be ranked higher on a ATG list.

    We talking achievements, or head-to-head.

Head-to-head, it's more like hand-to-head, as a young Foreman hands Holyfield his melon. Would be a savage death for Holyfield.

Looking at their careers, well, it's harder. Holyfield has his Cruiserweight glory, as well as a long & storied HW career with some real highs. Foreman's story through two careers probably deserves the nod, though.

Nah nothing to do with Head to Head. Just achievements!

I still have to give it to Foreman, but Holyfield deserves his regard.

I definitely rank Foreman higher at HW.

I probably rank him higher of all time aswell.

Holyfield is just a better fighter overall, he's complete. Foreman could punch and brawl well, but he had no defense and his boxing skills were minimal. Later on he became a bit better at boxing, but he could never be as good as Holy.

In terms of achievements I would have to go with Holyfield

Holyfield was clearly the better boxer, I wouldn't say he was complete though, he was very easy to hit

You don't credit Foreman's win over Chuvalo as a good win?

Consdering Joe Fraizer was the undefeated Lineal Champion when George Foreman beat him and the in the fashion he did was remarkable. Same goes for the fashion he beat Ken Norton.

In the space of 6 years George Foreman stopped Fraizer x2, Norton, Chuvalo and Lyle in 5 rounds or less.

THEN, 17 years later beating a title holder in Moorer to become the oldest HW world champion ever.

I can't see how Holyfield has better accomplismnets than that personally.
