Who are some of the worst finishers ever? I'm not talking about guys without pop who couldn't hurt a guy in the first place, I mean guys who had guys hurt, even badly so, and couldn't do a thing.

I nominate LaMotta. He was a beast, but he didn't finish guys. I remember one fight, don't remember who against, but he hurts this guy in the second to last round (it's one of those abbreviated fights, so I'm not sure if it was the 9th or the 14th) and just unloads for the entirety of the last two. I mean two 10-8 rounds easy. He just could not put the guy away. Who are your suggestions?

That was a light heavyweight named "Irish" Bob Murphy who did have a solid chin. LaMotta wasn't always a great finisher but he did finish off Laurent Dauthuille impressively with only seconds to go in the match.

Earnie Shavers was not necessarily a poor finisher considering his KO record but he did have some of the poorest finishing attempts of all time against Ali, Holmes, Lyle, Mercado and others.

Shavers was a great finisher in his best years, can't blame him for not getting Ali and Holmes out of there. He did in his later years have bad stamina so after he had guys down, often they came back and beat him.
