Top 10 Fastest hands in HW History

Ali is atop the list
nobody comes close to ali in terms of handspeed when he was in his prime in the 60's. he coordinated his movement as well as anybody who has ever boxed
considering his size that's beyond remarkable.
his hands moved like a lightweight. he was unbelievably fast.
and he had an eighty plus inch reach and had leverage behind his punches to top it off
then i've got tyson and patterson in a tie: patterson being faster overall and tyson being faster p4p and the shorter puncher
then its louis
dempsey
tunney
johnson (though largely a defensive fighter in a list among offensive ones)
holmes
and because he's the roughest son of a gun goin, and would move faster after taking many rounds of clean headshots
evander holyfield

pretty quick sounds about right
he had t rex arms for a modern HW
His punches reached their targets quickly. And he did throw combinations. He was a great finisher
but the fastest guys in the history were fast without even thinking about it
ali probably shoveled a bowl of cereal down in five or ten seconds
let's not confuse him with one of the fastest ever

so I have them tied
1. Ali
2. Tyson/Patterson
4. David Haye/Herbie Hide
6. Michael Moorer
7. Holyfield
8. Joe Louis
9. Larry Holmes
10. Michael Spinks
(I'd say Roy Jones but does he really count?)

Patterson, to me, had the quickest gloves in the division's history. They were at worst marginally slower than Ali's.

No mentions for Lennox Lewis? Granted, he slowed up considerably during his latter years - but early on in his career he could deliver a pretty rapid combination. Razor Ruddock was floored before he knew he'd been hit.
I think it's unreasonable not to factor in size. I mean, it's one thing to throw fast combinations when you're weighing in around prime Ali. It's something else entirely when you're Rid**** Bowe.
Perhaps it would be better to divide heavies into historical/regular and super.

You must be joking. Lewis mentioned in a thread about the fastest-handed HW's ever!? It's one thing to be quick for your size (which, incidentally, I don't think Lewis especially was. Bowe was quicker & just as big), but it's another to be actually competitive with the likes of Louis, Ali, Patterson, & company. Lewis, overwhelmingly, wasn't in this facet.
