    Benitez/Hagler

How would the 1982 version of Wilfred Benitez who beat Duran and Lost by MD to Hearns do if he moved up 2 or 3lbs and challenged Hagler instead? Could he frustrate Marvin with Defense, or would Hagler have zero respect for his power and walk right through him? How would this fight go?

Benitez is one of my favourite fighters, but i don't see him beating Hagler.

I think he will frustrate him and it will be competitive for a while, but i believe Hagler will inevitably wear him down and take him out late IMO. Hagler at 160 will be too much for Wilfred.

I also feel he could frustrate Hagler, with his overall boxing abilty, counter punching, & defence. When Benitez was on form, he was really something to behold.

But overall Hagler's size, strength, & fitness lead to a late TKO victory.

I concur with everything that has been said so far.Benitez may make him look bad early on and frustrate him,but imo its only matter of time before hagler gets to him as he would grind him down as the fight went on

If you're talking about a prime Hagler, then it's almost a mismatch. Marvin just grinds him down.

A PRIME Marvin Hagler would wear him down and in turn lead to a late TKO.

much like the general consensus, Hagler was too big for benitez. Keep in mind we might be talking about a 15rnd match. I'd say first six rounds Benitez could have looked great and winning but it would be downhill from there for a late ko in favor of Hagler

                Benitez-Norris

I figured some would think Benitez could trouble Hagler and make it an ugly fight, but I really can't argue with the final conclusions.

How would the Same Benitez who fought Duran and Hearns do against the best version of Terry Norris? Would Norris also over power Wilfred with his speed and strength, or was Benitez just to good?

Now thats a more intriguing match-up too me,if forced too pick id favour Benitez too win a close decision, although i need too think about it a little more when im not so sleep deprived

For what it's worth, though Norris is formidable, he never got within a hundred miles of defeating a fighter as good as a peak Benitez.
