Thanks for the link. Did Joe Louis ever face an opponent that was similar to Tyson in anyway?

Not that I can think of, none overly similar and if they were they were not on the level of a prime Tyson.

Id have loved to see Gatti vs Chico Corrales at LW

Tito Trinidad vs Sugar Shane at WW

And another id like is Ike Ibeabuchi vs Rid**** Bowe

Oh and i'll throw in Sonny Liston vs Joe Frazier

La Motta v Graziano was a fight I always would have fancied. So many good MWs around the 40s and 50s that didn't meet. Cerdan v Robinson Burley v Zale you can mix and match them up etc etc etc
But Graziano v La Motta was a fight that nearly came off a couple of times and like Moore v Robinson would have been a real interesting match up.

Oh and i'll throw in Sonny Liston vs Joe Frazier
Corales KO 7 - Different class of fighter, Gatti had a huge heart, but Chico would knock him out cold by the mid-rounds. Could chance that Corales hits the floor, though.
Shane SD12 - Early knockdown is the difference here. Both guys get stronger as the fight continues, they really ramp up the action here in the championship rounds. Tito rallies, but it's not enough to overcome Mosley's strong start, imo. FOTY candidate, no doubt.
Bowe UD12 - Ibeabuchi was tough, but who did he beat? Overrated puncher, overrated prospect, Bowe wins pretty convincingly.
Liston KO8 - I actually heard a pretty convincing argument that Frazier is a better matchup for Liston than most people think, but I still don't see him overcoming Liston's hard, fast shots.

I agree on Gatti vs Corrales as far as the result goes but damn it be fun while it lasted!

I dont know man i think Mosley is a bit too willing to have a tear up to beat a big guy like Trinidad, im really big on both guys but i think Trinidad really puts it on Mosley down the stretch after an early KD, only Mosley's excellent chin and amazing fighting heart keep him in it to hear the bell but Trinidad UD, close but clear

Ike didnt do much and i have no problem with anyone dismissing him, i catch alot of flak for how much i rate him but i just really liked what i saw with him, strong as an Ox, fit as a fiddle with an excellent work rate, great chin and good punch power and clearly talented in my opinion. I think Bowe would have his hands full man.....

Its easy to see Frazier landing huge hooks on Sonny to drop and perhaps stop him but my first incline is Listons harder straighter shots get there first and do more damage, im gonna agree with u and say Liston in 8

No doubt Ibeabuchi was a physical freak, but I don't know, people overstate what he really did. I see where you're coming from and I really am the same way with Bowe, but I just never really thought much of him.

Just one of those things, some see something others dont in a guy and if he hasnt proved himself its hard to defend him

If I could write that, I wouldn't be on a boxing forum, I'd be on television.
