I was just browsing through here and i saw a thread about the hardest weights to rank. It seems agreed that Lightweight, Welterweight and Middleweight are the tougest to rank. I happen to agree, but if you HAD to, who makes your top 10? Feel free to add any other top 10 of other weight classes.

In no particular order at all, I think it would be something like this;
Lightweight: Joe Gans
Benny Leonard
Roberto Duran
Carlos Ortiz
Pernell Whitaker
Tony Canzoneri
Henry Armstrong
Ike Williams
Joe Brown
Ken Buchanan
Welterweight
Ray Robinson
Henry Armstrong
Jose Napoles
Ray Leonard
Tommy Hearns
Emile Griffith
Joe Walcott
Luis Manuel Rodriguez
Kid Gavilan
Oscar, Trinidad, Duran, Kid Lewis, Cokes, Walker (one of them anyway; couldn't decide)
Middleweight
Carlos Monzon
Ray Robinson
Marvin Hagler
Harry Greb
Hopkins
Ketchell
Benvenuti
Tiger
Fitzsimmons
Cerdan, Lamotta, Walker....Dunno.
All so interchangeable. There are another ten guys at LW you could throw in among the top ten too. These are usually the most obvious choices though.Last edited by BennyST; 12-16-2010, 09:28 PM.

Asking for all weight classes top 10 is an awful lot of work, especially to get a fixed list anyway.
Lightweight, Welter, Middle, Lightheavy have been given so.
Bantamweight:
1. Eder Jofre
2. Panama Al Brown
3. Ruben Olivares
4. Manuel Ortiz
5. Carlos Zarate
6. Terry McGovern
7. Pete Herman
8. Joe Lynch
9. Sixto Escobar
10. Bud Taylor, Fighting Harada, Lionel Rose, Kid Williams, Jimmy Barry.
Not sure too many too dispute for the last few spots.
Honorary Mention: George Dixon
Hard list to put together, was considering moving Olivares and Ortiz up and Brown down to 4th, not sure though.
Like most ATG lists could ask me tomorrow and it would be different.Last edited by NChristo; 12-17-2010, 06:17 PM.

Delighted to see McGoorty join up and breath new life into the history forum. Also bringing back a few of the older threads which are well worth revisiting. One question though, am I the only one who got confused. When you cat nap like myself and wake up read some threads maybe drop in a comment or 2, doze off repeat etc, also am trying to keep Alzheimer's at bay seeing a comment you posted and have no memory of can be alarming until you notice it was from 18 months ago and not last night!
