Yeah not enough time at HW and as Dempsey slips on most people's ATG HW lists, so will Tunney.

Holmes is good enough to crack most top 5 ATG HW lists, never seen Tunney crack a recent top 10. But I do think he beats Holmes out p4p, in part because of his better overall resume.

Yeah, p4p it's a different story entirely. I should think that Tunney would rank no worse than #3 at Light-Heavy, top-5 at the very LEAST.

Personally, I have him as the best Light-Heavy who ever lived, with Charles a narrow second. Tunney was that good, to me.

I have Charles #1 with Tunney either 2nd or 3rd with Archie Moore.

Those are my top-three names as well, with Moore at third. It's funny, for a division so often maligned as unattractive, & struggling to bring in the big bucks, LHW sure has a very deep list of legendary fighters. The top-10 of all-time for 175lbs. can stand shoulder-to-shoulder for greatness with most divisions ever created.

Contrary to what Poet is claiming, Tunney had more than 5 fights above 175. Gene Tunney ranks higher than Holmes, not only on a Heavyweight list, but also on a P4P scale, imo. Wins over Dempsey & Gibbons are better than any wins Holmes ever had.

                  Gibbons was a Light-Heavy.

                    The fight was at heavyweight.

You claimed Tunney only had a total of 5 fights at heavyweight, which is false. I suggest you read up of Tunney.

Gibbons was a great LHW and a formidable opponent for Tunney above 175. Let's not forget that Spinks was also a LHW, and Holmes couldn't handle him.

I don't appreciate the name-calling and general manner in which you speak to me. I'm happy to discuss the topic but it's impossible to do that with you.
