    Mexico & Puerto Rico...

...give us your studious top-5 for each of these two rivals. The very best, down through history. In or out of order, as you please. I may order these a little later, but to simply **** them out to get the ball rolling, let me submit...

    Julio Cesar Chavez
    Salvador Sanchez
    Carlos Zarate

    Puerto Rico:

    Wilfred Benitez
    Carlos Ortiz
    Wilfredo Gomez
    Cocoa Kid
    Edwin Rosario

Agree with your Mexico Picks, although you can make a case for Marquez or Morales over Zarate. But Zarate started off with such an incredible record that he can easily be regarded as one of the greatest bantams of all time. He had a loss to Fenech that seem to go to the scorecards prematurely due to a cut and the Pintor fight was close.

For PR, I would take Chapo and Cocoa Kid off and replace them with Samuel Serrano & Esteban Dejesus, or Trinidad despite never being a big fan of Tito.

2.Wilfredo Gomez - the best 122 pounder ever
3.Wilfred Benitez - youngest champion ever, one of the best defensive fighters

5.Jose Torres - defeated **** Tiger, great Light Heavyweight
6.Pedro Montanez - boxing historians agree. One of the best fighters to never hold a title
              7. Felix Trinidad - great KO, power puncher but one dimensional, 3 divsion champion

I feel just the opposite for Trinidad. I see him make a lot of lists, but I chalk at least some of that up to his fame & branding. To me, watching him, there is no feasible way this fella is the fifth-best fighter the Island has produced or better...its long history is just too rich for that (& if you see some of my posts, both here & in Fantasy Fights, I am usually pretty complimentary of Tito). There were a few names fighting out fifth spot on my list, but I could not reasonably see Trinidad as one of them.

He is one of those fighters who achieved more in their career than their talent alone should've allowed them to do, & you always have to respect that. Trinidad earned an impeccable win streak over many years, won titles in a few divisions, & most impressively, always, always gave 110% to the cause at hand, regardless of the opponent --- but again, his weaknesses & flaws leave him short of this particular Pantheon beyond doubt, IMO.

Well, you are two over the scheduled limit, & you are lacking a Mexico list, but the names you mentioned are pretty sound.
