I think Jofre slightly. This actually could have been an interesting fight at 126.
Eventhough Jofre wasnt exactly in his prime. He was still pretty good. And Arguello wasnt at his best until went up to 130 in my opinion

As much as I love Arguello I have to go with Jofre.

I'd rather watch Arguello fight, but that wasn't the question. Jofre for sure.

Other than Laguna (who moved up in weight quickly), who else was a big deal that Jofre didn't fight?

Arguello fought better competition no doubt. But he also wasn't nearly as flawless as Jofre. Jofre arguably never lost a fight. He has 72 wins. Only 2 official defeats. He fought until he was 40. His career was nearly 20 years long.

Perhaps his most impressive win was when he challenged for the lineal Featherweight crown, aged 37 and a clear underdog, yet still won. He then defended it against the best Featherweight of his era (when he was the best Bantamweight). 2 division lineal champ, 1 division undisputed, 72-2-4 over 20 years. Pretty damn unheard of.

Yeah me too. Arguello was in more exciting fights, but Jofre was just better.

Has an incredible resume of wins. Only beaten by one fighter over the course of a long career, and that fighter happened to also be an ATG.
