Sugarj it depends how you want to rate them, personally no i would not but the thread ask's who the 5 greatest fighters are of the last 30yrs and if you go by PPV numbers, titles won, career earnings, fan base etc etc then the 5 fighters i named come out on top.. my own person top 5 would not consist of any of them and most on here would have a field-day with them.

Greatness should be judged off whats fighters done in the ring, who they beat, there skills & resume. Not how many fans they have or how many PPV numbers they pull in.
I've only been here a few days. Put your posts always seem to catch my attention. You seem to say alot of things that just dont' make sense imo.Last edited by Underrated Jab; 10-20-2010, 11:07 AM.Comment

I see your angle.
I suppose I was looking more at a skills angle.Comment

WTF has career earnings, fan base, & ppv numbers got to do with greatness???

1/. Manny Pacquiao - world titles in 7 different weight classes and P4P No1
2/. Roy Jones - world titles in 4 weight classes P4P No1 for a decade, only man in history to start his career at 154lbs and win heavyweight title.
3/. Mike Tyson - Youngest ever heavyweight champion who regained title a 2nd time, an ATG puncher and boxing phenomenon.
4/. Ray Leonard - 5 times world champion in 5 weight classes, excellent fighter who beat the best of his era P4P
5/. Oscar Delahoya - 6 times world champion in 6 weight classes, fought and beat the best of his era as well as being a PPV phenomenon & P4PComment

And how is Mike Tyson greater than Pernell Whitaker, Thomas Hearns, Julio Cesar Chavez, & Evander Holyfield?
How is Whitaker, Holyfield, Hearns, Chavez, not in the list, but yet De La Hoya & Tyson are?
Complete & utter bogus!Comment

1. Leonard.
2. Whitaker
3. JCC
4. Duran
5. Hagler.
I think Duran is all time great than all the guy I have above him. However, mos of his work came in the 70's. I still think though he put in enough work in the last 30 years to be in the top 5. I just think the 3 I have ahead of him accomplished more during those 30 years period.
And, I couldn't decide between Hearns, Holyfield, and Hagler for my #5 spot. So I just went with Hagler do to alphabetical order. I think is really close between those 3 and you could just switch them around.Last edited by jrosales13; 10-20-2010, 11:28 AM.Comment
