virtually everybody with half a brain know that Young was robbed when he fought an out of shape Ali


sticking his head out of the ring was a disgraceful tactic, but the fight is scored round by round, and round by round, Young definitely beat Ali

and as I said, Young was on the bad end of decisions that could have gone his way many times

Muhammad Ali easily beat Jimmy Young with the 3 judges all scoring Ali the winner by at least 10rds out of the 15rds which is a landslide victory yet your claiming Young was robbed.. You also claim Young was robbed against Ken Norton which again is simply not true as Norton was a clear winner with Young acknowledging he was beaten in the post fight interview... Get a grip of yourself before making up ridiculous comments without ever seeing the fights or knowing anything about the fights.

I give this to Young based on resume and also on a prime for prime head to head basis.

I really rate the guy as a damn good 70s heavyweight. Close decisions whether winning or losing with Ali, Foreman or Norton prove his worth. Two times over Lyle too!

I saw the Ellis-Quarry fight. Neither of them fought that well, but Ellis deserved the decision and there was no controversy over it. Quarry later claimed that he fought with a broken back.

Quarry fought with a broken bone in his back after his brother by accident pushed him over a jukebox while they was celebrating Jerry's victory over Thad Spencer, The Ellis fight took place 9 weeks later and Quarry put in the worst performance of his career up to that date.

Young beat young Foreman, fat Ali (robbed of a win), arguably beat Norton, beat Lyle, arguably beat Occasio the first time.

Right there, you have 2 top 5 heavyweight AT in Foreman and Ali, and 1 top 25 AT in Norton.

Not a ****er, but a good counterpuncher with a great chin who didn't neglect to go to the body. He was tough to hit.

He was better than his record indicates. If I had to resume his career, I would call it unlucky, unfortunate.

I won't break down Ellis, I don't know enough about him. Looking at his record, I can say he didn't perform as well as Young against top competition, and he was lucky to get a piece of the HW crown. His best win is Quarry.

I would rank Young ahead of Ellis based on achievements and talent.

Muhammad Ali won "EASILY" against Young and all 3 judges scored it as such with them making Ali the winner 12-3rds, 11-3-1rds, 10-4-1rds that is not a robbery.. Young refused to engage Ali in a fight and repeatedly held his head outside the ropes to try to prevent Ali landing punches, that is not the way to win a boxing match and for you to claim Young was "Robbed" of victory is laughable

I scored the Ali fight 13 - 2 in favor of Young and I could see it going 12 - 3 or 12 - 2 - 1 but that's it, the fight was not close at all.

If Ali "easily" won then I'm missing something or need to go get serious eye surgery because it just didn't happen.

I won't question your scorecard, but while I have Young winning without any doubt, I had it closer, maybe 9-6 in favor of Young, maybe I gave some close rounds to Ali

I find both fighters hard to split

I have have to give Ellis the edge. Young had a very difficult style but Ellis had better tools to work with IMO.
