What if Vitali's comeback opponent had been Jack Dempsey?

Considering the number of threads and post that get made with an anti agends directed against legitimate ATG fighters I have a hard time feeling sorry for two fighters like the Klitschkos who are NOT ATG fighters.

Dempsey's probably not the guy you want to face at 37 after a 4 year layoff. Especially if you're a slow starter like Vitali.

That said we never would've heard about Willard had he not been lucky enough to face a 38 year old Johnson, who might've still taken a dive in the fight. While the manner in which the much smaller Dempsey destroyed him was impressive, I don't see any similarities between Jess and Vitali besides the obvious, and it seems like an absurd template for how this fight would've gone.

And who is a "legitimate ATG" and whether the Klitschko's are among them will always be just a matter of opinion, no matter how pompous and indignant some fans get.

Opinons are like azzholes: The wrong people have them and they're all full of ****. Sorry dude, but I'm not one of these egalitarian pinheads who thinks everyone's views are of equal worth. Quite frankly 75% of the views that fans hold are just flat out moronic. I'm not going to pay lip service to ******ity and if I think someone's full of **** I say so.

That's fine because I feel mostly the same way, except I would say that maybe 75% of the posters here are blinded by bias. I'm not going to allow someone to try and pass their opinion of an entirely subjective topic as fact. And nothing is more subjective than comparing boxers who are separated by 50-100 years in time.

Definitely. Or at least until they are very late in their career. I don't think it would be premature to categorize Hopkins or Holyfield now.

I don't go in for the "it's all relative because we can't KNOW anything" line either.

I'm getting the impression that you enjoy being hostile to those who disagree with you.

I don't go for smug and self righteous. See you around I guess.

I simply have no patience for views that are out of line with those of boxing historians unless those views are backed up in spades by hard evidence. I really could care less what someone BELIEVES: I'm interested in what they KNOW and if someone is going to challenge the conventional wisdom then the burden of proof is on them.
