Louis's 'bum of the month' club...

Its irritating when people bring this up. Louis fought a few bums, sure, every fighter has. but look at the number of top ten opponents he beat:

    Lee Ramage #10
    Patsy Perroni #6
    Lee Ramage 2nd time #10
    Natie Brown #8
    Primo Carnera #2(former world champ)
    King Levinsky #5
Max Baer #1 or 2(former World Champ)
    Charlie Retzlaff #4
    Jack Sharkey(Former World Champ)
    Al Ettore #9
    Bob Pastor #8
    Jim Braddock #World Champ
    Tommy Farr #2
    Nathan Mann #3
    Max Schmelling #1(former World Champ)
    John Henry Lewis(LightHeavyweight Champ)
    Tony Galento #4
    Bob Pastor 2nd time #3
    Arturo Godoy 2nd time #2
    Abe Simon #4
    Buddy Baer #6
    Billy Conn(LightHeavyweight Champ)
    Lou Nova #8
    Buddy Baer 2nd time #7
    Abe Simon 2nd time #5
    Tami Mauriello #2
    Jersey Joe Walcott #3(controversial(robbery win))
Jersey Joe Walcott 2nd time #1
Lee Savold not sure, top ten

not the best division of all time, nah, but talk about cleaning out the division...

Whats he got, 7 or 8 HOF'ers on that list? Only the ignorant think Louis fought bums and that he wouldn't be a factor today.

Try again. Neither Foreman, Holy or Liston have better resumes and Langford was never champion. Strike one!

I think alot of criticism with any of the greats comes from a lack of knowlege.

This is not only in reference to this thread but many of the threads here in the history section.

You want to name 2 fighters in comparison to a whole resume...get real. Schmeling and Baer are equal to or better examples than Patterson or Williams. On top of this Louis sports more HOF fighters on his resume. Next.
foremans wins over moorer, shavers, norton, frazier>>>>>>>>>anybody on louis resume
Moorer was a front runner ko'd by a 45 year old man. Shaver was an incredible puncher but almost always beaten when he stepped up. While Norton is a decent name I don't see him being any better than a lot of the names on Louis' resume. Next.
                  holys wins over moorer,foreman,bowe>>>>>>>>>>>>>joe's resume
Moorer was a front runner, Foreman was a fat old man. Next.

Put who you want, but so far you have showed me nothing. How about a breakdown of where the ring had these fighters rated at the time they fought the respective men you have put up? Fact is only Ali fought a better resume as far as champions go.

You were being nice by putting Langford up?" Lol, thats a hoot coming from someone who was just criticizing my reading comprehension!

This is with out a doubt a fact. Boxrec does not equal knowledge of a fighter.
