His chin was bad.......You cant deny that. But my point you can still be a ATG with a bad chin.

I can deny it quite easily. Just because someone at Cyber Boxing makes the claim doesn't mean I'm going to agree with it. Does Hearns have a glass jaw? Does Dempsey (knocked out of the ring against Furpo, KOed in 1 against Jim Flynn who also happens to be one of the Heavyweights who KOed Flowers)? Does Tyson (KOed by Douglas, Holyfield, and Lewis)?

Vitali is Definently better. The only similarity is size.

Only thing that pisses me off about the klits is any good counter puncher (non exist currently) could *** up their euro robot style.

He was a good athlete, faster on his feet than most 250+ pound men, but he did not get full leverage behind his punches other than the jab. When Carnera hit you, you would feel it though, but he wasn't a huge puncher despite his knockout record and neither is Vitali for that matter. Both got most of their opponents out of there however by overwhelming them. Carnera had more knockouts than any other heavyweight champion while we all know about Vitali's knockout record.

Primo was well-taught, but his late start prevented him from being a "natural" in the ring. Vitali can come off as unorthodox, avoiding punches by leaning backwards and backing straight up, but he gets away with it due to his height. To both of their credit, they took full advantage of their superior size and strength against smaller opponents. Neither are outstanding technically, just very dedicated to their craft and physically superior to most of their opponents. There are few men of that size who can actually box and move around the ring for 12 or more rounds.

All in all, I'd say that the difference is Vitali's fighting experience from since he was young, both in boxing and kickboxing, while Carnera did not take up boxing until he was around 20 years old. Vitali is a lot more comfortable in the ring, unlike Carnera who reportedly never liked boxing, lost his "killer" instinct after being involved with the death of Ernie Schaaf and was probably more suited to be a wrestler. But he did win the heavyweight title legitimately from a very good fighter.
Good post with some excellent analysis.. you make a point in that "PRIMO WAS WELL-TAUGHT" which i totally agree with and that gives him the edge in a H2H with Vitali IMO... Vitali is so raw that he amazes me how he is victorious, i feel that a guy like Rid**** Bowe (1993) would be arrested for Murder should he have fought Vitali with Vitali`s style of leaning away from his attacking opponent being exploided by a fighter like Bowe who would destroy Vitali`s body then take his head... it is foolish to kid ourselves that the Klitschko Brothers are great fighters as they are fighting the worst class of contenders in the History of Heavyweight Boxing and should those same contenders of fought Primo Carnera i am sure Carnera would have looked awesome against everyone of them.

i especially love 1:52 where primo carnera literally falls down while trying to throw a punch. This guy as good as Vitali? How are these people not banned? You make a post talking about Joe Calzaghe KOing Ali and you get banned, even thoug Calzaghe's has beat people, who beat people who beat people who made Ali quit. But this joke? Better than Vitali? Just look at him? First of all the styles are nothing alike. Primo stands completely open in front of his opponents, his jab blows, he doesnt initiate like Vitali, he stands straight up while Vitali leans in. His straight right is non existant. He had no chin. A guy who gets knocked down 11 times in one fight? Or a guy who has never been knocked down. Look at 6:06 in the video where he literally skips in as he punches, no power behind them, what a joke.

He fell down because his ankle was broken in the very first round. Yet he was still fighting until the 11th round. A lot of the knockdowns were pushes or Carnera's ankle giving out.

Carnera was just big. He’s a million miles away from either brother. Not in the same league.
