    Vito Antuofermo I
A perfect example of one fighter(Vito) being in above his head but having the heart and desire to overcome it. I still thought Hagler won but Antuofermo earned a ton of my respect.

    Tony Sibson
This was back when the #1 contender got there by beating top contenders. Sibo did that and Hagler showed he was way above the rest.

    Mustafa Hamsho II
Hamsho was a beast and like a few of Hagler's challengers would have excelled in other era's if he fought in them. The first fight was rough and ugly but the rematch was Hagler's precision tool.

    Thomas Hearns
    What more can I say?

Havent seen the Hart or Monroe fights, Ill check those out
Roldan is most notable for having scored the only official knockdown in Hagler's career. It was one of those flash knockdowns that are a result of half slip and half punch, it was scored over the top of the head and it could have been scored either a KD or slip.

Eugene Hart gave hagler a game fight and pretty much retired in his stool due to being exhausted.

The monroe fight was a close fight in the spectrum that many felt was a hometown decision in the phlly spectrum. Hagler would later avenge that loss and also avenge Bobby Watts. Watts is the only fighter that Hagler admitted to beating him, but i am not sure if that 1976 fight is available in film. i have the Monroe fight but there is no audio.

        Hamsho both
        Duran
        Watts both
Colbert (not sure if there was another one with him; I've only seen one)
Hearns- (I'm a bigger Hearns fan than Hagler fan, and continue to be disgusted by Hearns' foolishness in the Hagler fight.)

Hearns best bet was to box and use distance instead of trading. Has he ever explained why he fought like that?

Yeah,he did say why he fought the way he did.He said his legs were very weak before the fight. He said he knew he could not use his legs to box and keep out of range etc. etc.

So he said he knew he had to stand there and slug it out.He still thought he could beat Hagler this way,and KO Marvin. But he still wished he would have had his legs.

Hearns said his legs were weak? Is that why he got a massage before the fight? I remember Emanuel (Emmanuel?) Stewart saying he was worried and I think angry when he found this out going into that fight with Hagler.

Or maybe Hearns wanted to take the fight to Hagler, which one usually has to do to win a title.

I actually like the Minter fight quite a bit because he was not playing around at all. One of his more violent performances even though it was a cut stoppage.

That is a very underrated fight, I wish Hagler had fought like that more often.
My favourite Hagler round has to be round 6 of Duran-Hagler, when Hagler started to turn up the pressure
