  • Bob Foster Hardest P4P Puncher Ever?

Does anyone give him this tag?

Watching Great A's sig of him KO'ing people, is just darn right scary.

He's putting them out COLD......What a ****in puncher. Dude had insane power.

    Thoughts?

Bob Foster usually knocked out his opponents with them remaining unconscious for several minutes, Legendary boxing historian and commentator Reg Gutteridge said in his book `Uppercuts & Daisies" That the hardest two punchers of all times was Bob Foster & Thomas Hearns both bean-pole in stature

At light heavyweight he has a case but his power didn't truly move up. I think Bob Satterfield may have hit harder, he knocked 200+ lb heavyweights out cold while weighing in at 175, but Foster was a better, more consistent fighter.

Bob Foster shouldn't be discussed as great in any department when p4p is considered.

Ali laughed when Foster started to hit him and started to do mock wobble dances as it to pretend he was hurt. If foster was the greatest puncher he would have put a little more dent on ALI.

Foster did give up 40 pounds to Ali in that fight. I can't say foster was a better puncher LHW Michael Moorer who had an incredible KO percentage at LHW and still had some decent power at HW.

I agree.. Speaking of Hearns, Foster is what i'd describe as a paper thin and fragile heavyweight.. Also when you observe A's sig, only Finnegan goes down from a straight punch, where as all the others are hooks.. Terrific hooks, especially the left..
I think he's got a fair shout as the hardest punching light-heavy, out of him and Fitzsimmons i'd say..

Foster was the only fighter to ever cut Muhammad Ali

At 175 he's one of the best but there are many at other weights I would place higher.

You don't think he should be discussed as a great p4p puncher? Granted his power didn't carry up with him to heavyweight, but the way he put guys to sleep at 175 was scary.
