Lennox also been 12 rounds with David Tua.

To be honest, if you look at his resume Lennox has been in there with a LOT of big punchers and has only ever been down twice.

His chin is hugely under-rated and he has stood up to 99% of the big shots he's taken.

It also needs to be said that if Lewis were fighting in the era of the man he is being compared to - Sonny Liston - he probably would have been allowed to continue versus McCall. Whether he would have survived or not, we won't know, but it's not really an even playing field as far as stoppages go.

Watch Lewis against Shannon Briggs. He takes some of Briggs' very best shots before using the jab to take control of the fight. Lewis lands some bombs, round 4 is one of the great heavyweight rounds. With about 40 seconds left Briggs lands a big shot to which Lewis just stands and smiles before smashing him with a big right.

It's even because Liston never got up wobbly after a knockdown like Lewis against McCall. He did not really enjoy any kind of advantage over Lewis in that regard.

I meant in a wider sense. Lewis has a KO ledged against him that wouldn't have been ledged against Louis, Ali, Liston, Frazier, Johnson, Jeffries, Holmes or basically any of the men he is compared to aside from Holyfield and Tyson. Not as it happened, anyway. Almost all of the men he is compared to at the top of the list would have been allowed to continue.

Honestly, take a look at Lennox's record...the people he faced, their punching ability, their KO records at the time of facing Lewis. You'll be hard pressed to find many HW resumes that have as many punchers as his.

Razor Ruddock, Tommy Morrison, Andrew Golota, Shannon Briggs, Ray Mercer, Mike Tyson, Vitali Klitschko, Oliver McCall, Hasim Rahman, David Tua, Henry Akinwande, Frank Bruno, Michael Grant.

A hell of a lot of punching power there.

True. I don't think the McCall loss should be viewed as a clean knockout as some do but rather a somewhat questionable TKO. Still, Lewis did get knocked down hard and was on shaky legs. I imagine people would be bringing the fight up even if Lewis had gotten up to win because McCall is not the level of a fighter who should be able to get to a Lennox Lewis.
