Mannnnn, they arent world titles tho. Aint none of them major. Paper titles.

Hearns was the first man to win major titles in 5 different weight classes

But goin back to my other comment, do you feel that Pac beating David Diaz at 135 is a more authentic title victory than Pac beating Barrera at 126, simply because Diaz held a WBC belt while Marco only held a Ring belt?
i dont see it as more authentic. i just think that to call yourself a world champion in a certain weight, you need 1 of the 4 belts i was talking about. and thats it for me. the ring belt to me isnt a world championship, it is however recognising that they are the best champion if you see what i mean!!!

Manny was the lineal champion in four classes.

He claimed an alphabelt title in five.

Those accomplishments were across seven weight classes.

        Done.
yes but to call yourself a world champion in 7 weights isnt strictly true because he hasnt won a major world title in 7 divisions. thats all im trying to say!

Pacquiao is fighting the universally recognised best in the division, he fought Hatton because Hatton thought to be the best in the 140lb division and had never been beaten at that weight and like you say, Pacquiao is ending these guys careers, which is a measure of his superiority over them, i only hope Pacquiao & Floyd can get it on later this year for the sake of Boxing.
im not having a go at pacquiao. we know hatton was the best at 140, but whatever way you want to spin it, no major world championships were on the line against hatton.

Yo but that's like saying if Pacman were to move to down to 140 for his next fight and if he were to be beat he'd lose his lineal title to whoever beat him.

Now for an example lets use someone who dont got a title.

            Malignaggi

If Malignaggi were to outbox and beat not only the 140 lineal champ but the p4p champ too, you really telling me you wouldnt recognize Paulie as the champ?

Personally the only ones I'd count are the Ring belts since the alphabet bodies have 0 credibility. Major body, minor body, doesn't matter: They're all fraudulent organizations and the sooner they wither and die the better.

im not so sure why this is so hard to understand! forget who holds the titles for a min. there are 4 world champions in each weight. and there is the ring mag title which imo signals the best fighter in the division, which is usually 1 of the 4 world champs.

so take that into account when pac fought hatton. hatton didnt hold any major world title but had the ring. i forget who the 4 champs were, but hatton was considered the best fighter in the division because he had the ring mag. man that beat the man. so pac is the best fighter in the division and won a minor title also. but he isnt a major junior welterweight champion.

so to say pac is a 7 division titleist is correct. but to say pac is a 7 weight world champion is not correct.
