so i have a different opinion from you, so this means that i have a playground mentality? immature. Rahman and McCall caught a Lewis who was under estimating them. He wouldnt do that with Louis, he would keep him at the end of his jab all day and eventually knock him out as Louis got desperate. In which Louis fight would you assume he would deal with Lennox Lewis's style the best? O, thats right, there isnt one. Fighters evolve. You wouldnt expect Marciano to ko Lewis, at 190 pounds, so why expect Joe Louis to do so?

i think it depends which lewis shows up to fight. the one that beat tua and tyson is an incredibly hard fight for anyone shorter than 6 3 imo. but joe was a much more accurate puncher and better defender than those two and would have an easy time countering someone as slow as lewis. louis by close decision.

the lewis that fought ray mercer gets knocked out in less than 6. i think there's a huge difference between lennox's physical prime and his technical prime.
the Tua fight would be a prime example, obviously Tua isnt as good as Louis but the height and reach is similar and Tua barely won a round. In terms of uppercuts, right hands etc - point taken, but he wouldnt get close enough to land them. Lewis's chin is severly under-rated, so even if Louis did land i doubt he would k.o him unless is was a Hail Mary shot or an under-trained Lewis

the reach and height is too much, end of - a Prime Lewis wins comfortably

        Buddy Baer - 6ft 6ins
        Abe Simon - 6ft 5ins
        Primo Carnera - 6ft 6ins
all bigger, taller, longer reach than Lennox Lewis, all punched harder than Lennox Lewis and all knocked out by Joe Louis... Joe Louis was 6ft 3ins so Lennox Lewis would be just under 2ins taller, Joe Louis is around the same height as journeymen Hasim Rahman & Oliver McCall both of whom poleaxed Lewis.. Joe Louis would murder Lennox Lewis within 5rds or less.

lennox called himself the pugilist specialist for a reason. he'd undoubtedly be one of louis' toughest fights, but louis doesn't need to get inside to hit lennox. louis was the faster, more accurate, more explosive puncher. he could put more punches together with more speed and ferocity than lewis ever thought about. he didn't have to set his feet to throw a knockout punch unlike lewis.

edit: moreover, joe didn't have to set his feet to throw a string of 5 or 6 knockout punches. i can't see it happening any other way. the brown bomber makes lennox lewis look much slower and dumber than he is. not with his dazzling fancy dan movement, but with his economical quickness. he'd do the right thing at the right moment everytime.

Bad fight for Lewis. Joe Louis won't have to much trouble with big Lennox's jab and will use his significant speed advantage to tag him repeatedly with right hands until Lennox becomes so gun shy he simply withers away into a mid to late round stoppage. Lennox has the power to down Louis if he can land a bomb but I'm afraid I can't see Joe giving him much of an opportunity to do it.

What a ridiculous idea to try to put the fighters of different eras in the same ring... Louis was a CW at best, he actually could try and make a LHW...
