Interesting to see you still posting in this thread even after I proved you haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about.
"Hatton sux cuz he didn't fight 3 elite 154 pounders back while he was still working his way through the ranks at 140":thinking1:
Funny stuff bud.
You never proved anything. WTF are you talking about? The guy never moved away from the 140LB division and never did anything but beat an old Tszyu. Don't be mad. You sound like a pissed off Euro fanboy, not much else to say

So by that same logic, Marvin Hagler ****** because he never left the MW division? I couldn't care less whether you like Hatton or not, but when you start spouting garbage like he sucks because he didn't fight 3 elite 154 pounders at a time when he was still working his way through the ranks at 140, I gotta call you on it. No need to bust a gasket kid, just be more careful with the stuff ya spout next time, you'll be fine.
He has a very good shout for the Hall of Fame. An exciting offensive fighter, potent body puncher....The Kostya Tzuyu fight took a lot out of him.
He KO'd Jose Castillo with a body punch and beat a lot of other very good welterweights including Tzuyu, Paul Malignaggi, Ben Tackie, Vince Phillips, Luis Collazo, Juan Urango, Juan Lazscano etc Hung with one of the best welterweights of all time in Floyd Mayweather in his first of only two losses, but was already on a downward slide by that point (not that he would have ever beaten Mayweather). Terrible lifestyle and inability to master defensive fundamentals obviously didn't help and he paid as a result.
A tallented nearly man who was ruined by the following:
1) His lifestyle outside the ring (drinking, ballooning in weight between fights).
2) Moving up to welterweight to Fight Collazzo. Took too many punches. obviously wasn't as strong at the highter weight.
3) Moving back down in weight afterwards, toll on body.
4) Then moving up to welter again to face pound for pound number 1 Mayweather in a division he was obviously not suited too.
5) Then moving back in weight again, more toll on body. Clearly had little punch resistance against Lascano compared to what he used to.
6) Has a chaotic training camp before facing the new pound for pound king Pacqiou and is brutally knocked out.
7) Balloons to 200Lbs according to some reports.
8) Comeback is thwarted when he bunks out of training to go to a stag night gathering in Tenerife.
The ballooning, junk food, alcohol and lack of care for himself outside of training camps has surely cut short his career. Plus moving up and then down in weight divisions a few times in only a few years is never good, very few fighters do this with ease.
The Ricky Hatton, prior to the Collazzo fight would have given many light welterweights in history a good fight, he had good pace, punch variety, speed and a good chin.
He has a greater claim to be IBHOF material than some who are on the list, but I cant see him entering it easily. He is a two weight world champion who has beaten some good fighters.
good post, this pretty much sums up my thoughts. Thing that gets on my **** tho is when people make a big deal about hatton being beat by mayweather and being wiped out by pac. people have to realize that they are two of the best ever, maybe even top 10 ATGs. he was extreemly hard to beat at his best and terrorized B level fighters!
