Hyping has nothing to do with betting odds. Now your lack of knowledge is shining brighter than ever.

People would watch 24/7, interviews, smack talk, people from each camp talk about their fighter and the other, and people would buy into it. People making the betting odds know better, but that doesn't stop the average joe, and especially a ******* like yourself, from actually BELIEVING that Ricky Hatton had any business in the ring with a guy like Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather, and next thing you know, leading up to the fight, there is a "Hatton vs ??? insert ATG here" threads all over NSB.

For Christs sake look at the threads before March 13th leading up to the Pac fight.

"WARR CLOTTEY1!!!!!1111!!" threads all over the place. PEOPLE BOUGHT THE HYPE when there was NO probable chance that the guy could win.

Arum had everybody believing that Clottey was going to be an exciting fight, and we'd see some kind of brawl, and a lot of people bought that.

People who know, however, knew exactly what it was going to be. I said Clottey would throw 1 punch to Pac's 10. It was clear to me who would win the fight and exactly how it would go down.

You however feel that it was a good matchup because Bob Arum said so every week.

Ricky Hatton is no different. He was a hype job that never went away, now we're talking "Where does he rank ATG?" and "Who wins Ricky Hatton vs random ATG?"

    Give me a break.

Not an ATG, but a HOF. His only two losses coming against the best fighters on the planet, but for the rest of the part he was one of the best 140ers in recent history. Add to that he was a very popular fighter and one of the most well supported boxers of all time.

I see in your red K you call me a moron and ask me to post facts.

I have posted facts, where are yours? I take back what I said about being King of the *******s. You aren't the king, you're just an idiot *******.

You're the village idiot *******, because an average ******* can make somewhat of a half assed delusional case.

I respect your opinion but how far back does "recent history" go in your opinion?

If you look at the details in his losses, it's much worse than just "only 2 losses." He looked as if he didn't belong in the ring with them, and that's not how HOF's look when they go up against other HOF fighters, IMO.

From what I understand he was not very supported here in the US. I'm sure he had the UK behind him but the world is much bigger than just the UK, and when we're talking an IBHOF'er that's important.

You are literally too ****** to debate with. I was making a point as to what kind of nonsense is spattered all over this website as a result of PROMOTER CREATED HYPE, ie: you believing Hatton is a HOF'er.

You've been pwnt. Back to NSB where you can fondle Pac and share your love for him amongst other *******s.

Did Ricky Hatton win 45 fights without doing anything good, he ducks no body, he called out Floyd and Manny(2 of the ATGs which we wont see again for a long time) He is a HOF. Ring Magazine fighter of the year.

                Discuss!
at 140, he was a solid contender and would give most of the top guys at 140 a good tussle.

I figure he'd lose but he'd probably give Chavez and Pryor a solid fight before being finished eventually.

I know people will go on about his chin but he was really only koed early by Pacquiao because Pacquiao knew before hand he could catch him coming in. He only knew that because Mayweather figured this out in the mid rounds fighting Hatton. Fight on the back foot and catch him coming in. I could see a guy like SRL doing this to him as well. Anyone that fights him head on though ends up getting into his wrestling style fight and it becomes much harder than it needs to be.

Hatton has been around since the lat 90's and there was major talent at the time, much better than Pacquiao, that Hatton never even fought.

A little absurd to think Hatton should have fought any elite fighters in the 90s, don't you think?
