  • Who was the most succesful fighter in history with only mediocre talent

Who was a guy who just didn't do anything exceptionally well but somehow became a very successful fighter? Who do you think was the best "Average Joe"?

I don't know if Iran Barkley was the best "Average Joe" but he got pretty far for what God gave him. Right now, I'd say Kelly Pavlik, he punches hard, but, he doesn't really do anything great really.

      You can't be serious ?!
PAC was rough around the edges, but his natural ability is out of this world !! His ambition and drive to succeed is up there too. P4P his punching power and speed is up there with some of the best of all-time.

Antonio Margarito. Great conditioning and a great chin go a long way.

I was going to say Marciano as well. He wasn't especially good at anything but he could hit and 49 opponents were unable to keep him away.

I think Frazier might be worth mentioning as well, he wasn't very big, didn't hit really hard, wasn't exceptionally fast, but through will and fundamentals he had a great career.

Lol, Frazier was my next thought after Marciano.

Frazier was one of the most destructive puncher/pressure fighter of all time
