I wouldn't say 7 is VERY low considering the historical depth of the division. Eddie Futch considered Burley the best he ever saw: Eddie Futch > Poet.

As far as the fight you presented.......

Greb over Hopkins by decision. Hopkins never beat a fighter near the caliber of Greb. On the other hand Greb faced many all time greats winning more times than not. The fight would be close but I think Greb out works him.

Jones over Greb by decision. A little to much speed here and Greb doesn't have the power to slow Roy down. I think Harry could rough him up on the inside, but Jones would get a UD.

Greb over Tito by a mile. Greb had an iron chin and his work rate and angles would give Trinidad fits. I think this fight is a blow out with Tito tasting the canvas more than once.

Another blow out far Greb. Oscar doesn't have the stamina or power to hang with Greb. He'd have a few good early rounds and than Harry's tenacity would take over. Greb by wide decision.

Tarver has nothing on Gene Tunney or many other greats that Greb fought at 175. He struggled both times against Glen Johnsons pressure and was beaten by Eric Harding. Another decision for Greb.
You crack me up man. If you said it, it must be true. You must have been there and watched all of Greb's fights.

No got a lot of respect for Futch but as much weight as i'd give his comments and others such as Archie Moore I think the weight of evidence points more to Greb.
You could make a case for Williams, Marshall, Bivins being of the level of Burley out of the murderers row guys.Charles seemed to have his number and Burley seemed to have Moore's number. I would never say Burley was overrated but I feel Greb was more dominant and had a superior resume.
You are not one of the many who won't count fighters they haven't seen much of and not one of the many who ignore anyone pre 1950 so I would have thought you'd have Greb higher. Admitadly the MW division is deep and 7 isn't too shabby
I would have Greb top 3 and would reluctantly drop Burley for him

You have to respect a man that steps up from MW to take the HW title in the days of one champion.
Took a long time for a Light Heavy to do it.
I would always pop Fitz in aqmongst my top Light Heavy's if I had to pick a weight for him. Whilst he only fought there for a short time at the tail end of his career that was because the division didn't exist. Had it have been inaugarated earlier I think he would have dominated it for as long as he chose. Just my whimsey if you will

I respect what he did through multiple weight classes, but that's more of a P4P topic. This topic is solely based on the middleweight division.

Lol, you put these fights up and asked. Why don't you break them down and tell us who wins based on you vast knowledge of the sport?
