Greg Page (October 25, 1958 – April 27, 2009)[1] was an American boxer. He was the World Boxing Association Heavyweight champion from 1984 to 1985. His professional record after his retirement in 2001 was 58-17-1 with 48 Knockouts.
In June 1986, Page competed in a California state heavyweight tournament. He showed up horribly out of shape at 242 pounds to tackle the dangerous Mark Wills,
a hard hitting gym rat who had given Witherspoon a torrid fight. Page, completely ill prepared, was dragged into a slugfest. Dropped by a barrage in the first round, he recovered to deck Wills with a short left hook in the second. At the end of 9 rounds Wills cut Page and knocked him down whilst he was clowning. This led to the surreal image of Page sitting on his stool, arguing with his trainer "this ain't a fight. This is just training!" and electing not to come out for the final round.
Sonny, i don't have access to a vast fight library as you do, and if i did, i wouldn't be smug enough to state 'what colour shorts' they were wearing etc to someone who is completely relying on memory..
I'm saying, that certain fights that are clear in your mind, will rarely be in others.. Sure, i remembered there was a KD, but not as vividly and in the same dramatic fashion that you do.. I knew it was the 9th round because, 'hands up,' i consulted boxrec on that one.. I also knew there were other KD's in the fight, but could not remember by who, and what rounds they came in, and i vaguely remember a comical end to the fight, but thought it was Wills as opposed to Page..
I don't doubt you do have the fight, so why the need to consult Wikipedia?
I'm not knocking it; but please stop childishly thinking you have all the aces & trying to 'catch me out' as it doesn't wear.
