Both were tap and run defensive boxers. Terribly boring bad fight. Spinks southpaw stance gives him the edge in this pitter patter affair. No way Floyd goes near Spinks who would make him look bad and ordinary.
You need to recognize that Floydy could punch with fair force while accuracy and surprise did the rest. That is why he had so many single punch KOs even to the body with either mitt. I have been looking for anyone who has pulled that feat off. I can't help it if he was the first one I found. Robinson probably pulled it off too, but only a few of his fights survived and the film quality sometimes prevents certainty of detail.

I see Floyd differently. One dimensional, one two, that's it. He didn't have range as a fighter, just one punch or one two. A very boring basic fighter after 147. Nobody was allowed to brawl with him or try to hurt the only franchise the establishment had. Nobody went Vinny Paz on Floyd because they weren't allowed. Floyd knew he was safe and just pitter pattered his way to 50-0. Everybody had to be polite to Floyd, in the ring and out. Margarito, Cotto, Williams, Martinez, Thurman would have eaten him alive. Without establishment protection Floyd would have about ten losses.
When you concede something small in a verbal squall it betokens a willingness to cooperate for the good of truth. Admit it, in last night's "Brawl In The ******," Mayweather had poor Cory so rocked and dazzled he joined Floyd by punching himself which was much easier and besides kept his face occupied, crowding out lil' Floyd's punches, who still couldn't get a knockout. He survived the gang beat down and was still standing defiantly at the final bell's welcome clangor.

I can't think of one welter great the lil coward would dare to fight, unless there was a payoff to play soft.

But Haymon couldn't buy them all off like he managed to get Canelo to do. But straight up, Floyd ducks them all and handpicks (hires) Henry Bruseles or Carlos Baldomir.
Maidana gave him hell, and Mayweather promptly rematched him.

Rocky and Creed gave each other hell so those mustve been real fights too. Floyd was the establishment's installed franchise and was protected from ever losing. That's why he ducked Pacquiao for six years.
