Deontay Wilder is the best American heavyweight champ since 2000. He held the WBC belt for five years with 10 defenses and huge knockout power. Chris Byrd and Hasim Rahman had good moments but weren’t dominant.

Byrd has more legit wins in the Top 10 then Wilder and has beaten two hall of famers and won the heavyweight belt twice. Deontay has never beaten anyone in the Top 5 ever in his career.

That’s a good list on the first page. As discussed, Andy Ruiz has Anthony Joshua’s scalp and could have had Joseph Parker’s too. There wasn’t much separating them.

I might rank him a little higher. Maybe over John Ruiz who I absolutely couldn’t stand.

I looked back at some prime Rahman. He definitely should have gotten the nod for the Tua 2 fight. I thought he was taller than 6'2 but he did have insanely long arms for his height with the 82" reach. A very wide and heavy frame but 260 pounds was too heavy for him imo, he was so plodding on his feet. He had a pretty good jab but the speed just wasn't there in the feet and combinations.
