I don't think it did land ,but if it did ,it didnt do any damage did it,because he kod Ketchel with his very next punch.

Johnson had arranged to carry Ketchel with Ketchel's manager Willus Britt.

Ketchel was not party to the arrangement. He can clearly be seen trying to land haymakers all though the fight.
Hitting Ketchel harder than he intended Johnson grabs the smaller man and hoists him up to his feet.making no attempt to finish him .He does this twice in the fight.
The film shows Johnson going down before the punch goes over his head .

Shot didn’t even land. Someone made a video on youtube, slowing it down and zooming in. The shot straight up missed. Doesnt even deserve a debate

I'm not one who needs convincing of that.

Yeah I know I was responding to others via you. Theres a few threads here right now where people are arguing about things that cannot be argued about. Like a punch connecting generally requires a glove to touch the other man for it to have an impact. Usually wind doesn’t knock over a man, specifically a large strong one!

            - - Looking at it, JJ sees the punch coming and ducks down when the punch lands, a more obvious result where JJ loses his balance much like Liston with the Ali phantom punch, a nothing punch that was a Technical Knockdown.

JJ was up immediately to catch Ketchel perfectly, but now slightly woozy because it was a back of the head shot almost trips and falls down.

If he was slightly woozy, how come he got up immediately and had the presence of mind and accuracy to ko Ketchel with his very first punch?

Somebody up there likes you. Otherwise your name calling would have had you booted long ago.

                  - - It's almost like you was born again for the umpteenth time.

JJ had an average chin that he was able to hide vs mostly smaller, so so boxers. He was koed, what, a half dozen x?

No, he was ko'd 3 times.
Once when he was green against Choynski.
Both he and Choynski were super middleweights at the time Choynski 57 wins 42 kos

"The fight ended in the third round, as Choynski feinted with his left and hit Johnson on the jaw with his right. Johnson fell into Choynski’s arms and landed on his back on the mat. There is some question as to whether or not Johnson was expecting actual combat and Choynski was notorious for pulling a fast one on unsuspecting opponents. He had once pulled the same trick on Bob Fitzsimmons."

Once against Willard when he was 37. Willard was 6'6" 1/4and weighed 238 1/2lbsand it took him26 rounds to wear Johnson down to the point he could ko him.22 wins 20 kos

Suddenly, the once-invincible Johnson appeared far older than his 37 years.

“Time had done its work,” the Associated Press reported. “It had been the opinion of Johnson and many of his friends that he did not have to be in the best of condition to whip Willard, underrating the latter’s splendid condition and youthful stamina.”

According to a New York Times account, Johnson asked Curley following round 22 to “Tell my wife I’m tiring and I wish you’d see her out.”

The end came shortly before the halfway point of round 26. As the pair maneuvered toward the challenger’s corner, Willard fired a lunging jab followed by a pulverizing right to the jaw. Upon impact, Johnson’s head snapped violently to the side while his hands reached out and tried to take Willard down with him. That effort failed, so his stricken frame slid down Willard’s torso and legs before landing back-first with a thud. As Johnson shaded his eyes from the blinding sun, referee Welsh positioned himself four feet directly behind the champion’s head and tolled the count. Once he reached “10,” he immediately raised Willard’s right arm and walked toward ring center.

After the fight, referee Jack Welch said: "If I had been compelled to give a decision at the end of the twenty-fifth round, it would have been Johnson's by a wide margin. Up to the twentieth round, Willard had one won only one round by a real margin and two or three others by the slightest shade. In the thirteenth and fourteenth, I was almost sure Johnson would knock Willard out, but Willard showed that his jaw and body were too tough. Johnson put up a wonderful fight to the twentieth round, but age stepped in then and defeated him."

                    Once when he was 52

BearCat Wright turned the trick when Johnson was 52 years old

Wright was 6'1" and 211lbs.59 wins 42 kos

Johnson held Wright on nearly even terms for four rounds, but in the fifth a solar plexus blow followed by a right uppercut put him down for the full count. (Associated Press)

                    Three heavy punchers.

                    • I honestly dont think Johnson had a chin. He got away with it because he was so good defensively.
