If it's silly, tell it to Manny Pacquiao who let it be known that just a few pounds was crucial for their first fight:

It's really hard not to eat. That has a big impact when it comes to fighting, especially if the fight is intense. It's really a disadvantage when you reduce,"

I guess Cotto wasn't softened up enough for Pacquaio to take the rematch at 154, but Floyd took the fight. Make it make sense.
Cotto did not demand rematch with Pac or Floyd.

Cotto was far more aggressive and vicious vs Pac than he was against Floyd. And it makes no sense because Pacquiao hit much harder than Floyd. Ask Oscar and Hatton

I never said he demanded it. It was definitely discussed and Pacquaio's team was trying to get him into another catchweight.

Cotto told BoxingScene.com that Pacquiao's camp tried to gain an advantage by making him go down to 150-pounds. He says the weight demand was the main reason for the fight falling apart.

"That's not true. That's not true. The main reason of the Pacquiao conversation is that he wants me to go down to 150 - the same as in 2009 when they made me go down to 145 - [so] they can take advantage of that. That was the real reason [for refusing the rematch]. [Back in 2009] the inexperience made me do it, but I'm not going to do it again [fight Pacquiao at a catch-weight]," Cotto told BoxingScene.com.

And Pacquiao was more aggressive vs. his other opponents than he was vs. Floyd, though Floyd probably doesn't hit as hard as many of them. I know you aren't going to say that Pacquiao threw the fight, too. Or are you?

If Cotto really wanted that rematch, he follows the orders and loses the weight. Or did he use that term to dodge another KO loss.

Pac tried to fight Floyd who ran and held to survive 12. It takes two to tango. Floyd didn't have the guts or courage to try to show his best vs Pac, and make a real fight for the ticket buyers... he survived and got the judge's gift phony decision.

Floyd took the fight at the full limit.

Whatever spin or explanation you want to give, it just is what it is.

                  - - Sorry, but don't ever once remember Cotto/Manny being talked about at any weight after Manny KOed him.

l'l floydy was the one ducking Cotto that frustrated Arum until they finally fought so l'l floydy had enough to feed his family while incarcerated for beating up his baby momma.

any thought Cotto won as he really took it to l'l floydy.

Well you are welcome to your opinion about who needs to do what but my only point was Floyd was willing to fight Cotto at 154 while Pac obviously thought that was a bit too risky for him. It is what it is.

Again it’s a matter of opinion. Pac should have learned how to cut off the ring and defend against a check hook. His skill level didn’t match up.
