I asked which rounds Mendoza won?
I posted the round by round ringside report of the fight .which directly contradicted everything you had said.

Mendoza was either floored in nearly every round or went to the floor voluntarily to save himself from being floored

Eventually , bloody and smashed to bits, he was unable to continue.Jackson was virtually unmarked and fresh enough to jump to the ground ,from the raised platform the fight was held on.

Far from being a cheat Jackson was held in high esteem by all stratas of society,that's how he earned the sobriquet Gentleman John Jackson.

Jackson elevated BK from the gutter by his personal conduct ,character, and personality , he was close friends with the gentry and served as a page at King George's coronation.

So highly was Jackson thought of a public subscription was made to pay for a statue to be created and placed at his mausoleum when he died ,it cost over £400, it stands there still.

I posted that Mendoza walked away from the sport for over 15 years and that when he issued a challenge in the Advertiser Jackson ,who was himself on the verge of retirement accepted the challenge saying in effect any time any place, asking only that Mendoza actually show up for the fight,and that he give an assurance that Mendoza would not tip off the Police where and when the fight would take place.

The idea that Mendoza was cheated out of beating Jackson and gave up because he realized he could not win does not jive with the round by round ringside report of the fight.THAT was my point!
I have the round by round report of both the Cribb v Molyneaux fights.

As far as far as chicanery is concerned the only contentious round that I can see was the 19th.

Molyneaux was the worse for wear after a big 30th round and was floored in the 31st by a blow to the throat.

Molyneaux had a last big rally in the 33rd round , after which both men were "sleepwalking".

At the end of the 39th round Molyneaux declared,he could fight no more,but his seconds persuaded him to come out for the 40th he then fell from weakness,and his seconds gave in.


Fifty five minutes of ring action that, according to Egan are much misrepresented today

My late Father's drinking companion was a descendant of Tom Cribb,and also his name sake.

He actually values you guys, or he would not care. Marchigiano has a history of doing some pretty spectacular things as an inventor. He is a very bright guy... Alas, we all have our quirks, our ways, I would never ask anyone to accept such quirks from others, but I do feel that to make this information known is ok with the rest of the gang!
