I don't think (at least for me) its quite time to rate Inoue's place in an all time sense yet. But maybe this can give us an idea where he may end up. Has Naoya surpassed Fighting Harada as Japan's greatest boxer? I've seen lists and even an article published on Boxingscene that believe so. I'm not well versed in the divisions below featherweight, but I know Harada's resume and best wins are excellent. What say you?

Heres the thing, Inoue will never have a win better than Harada's two against Jofre. But he will also never have an opportunity to have that- there is simply nobody of that level out there for him to get that. I know for most everyone, thats the big key to define how great a boxer is (the biggest name on their resume), and if thats it for you, well, yo have your answer.
Personally, I think if you watch them actually fight you can make a more complete evaluation. In doing so, I think Inoue proves to be a better and more complete boxer. For certain Harada was a freakin whirlwind and a worthy HOFer, but I think Inoue is better.
As an aside, there isnt as much depth to Harada's resume, in the months leading up to the first Jofre fight, he beat a guy who was 13-12 and another who was 7-2. In the fight immediately proceeding the rematch he beat an opponent who had yet to earn a career win. Now I know this is a product of the era, where fighters fought 4-6 times a year, so obviously not everyone is going to be a stud. But for those who lean so heavily on resume, does depth matter? Or is it just whose there biggest win, and that proves how great they were?

Inoue is a top 3 fighter at his weight class over the past 20 past 20 years. I respect all fighters, but Inoue isn't weight jumping to feather and there is not much at Bantam / Super Bantam today.
Espinoza I think would beat him there.
Inoue has fights left so his final legacy is yet to be fully judged.
