The WBA and Boxrec

  • The WBA and Boxrec

    I just noticed that Boxrec will identify WBC and WBO championship fights.

    But there no mention of WBA title fights or title holders.

    Anyone know if there is a policy in place? For what reason? Am I missing something obvious?

    I actually noticed that myself the other day. Boxrec, for all it usefulness, is weird. Their computer rankings make no sense, and there are strange things like this. It's a useful tool, but to many people rely on it without checking other sources.

      - - Lotsa boxing folks upset at boxrec who was briefly hacked out of existence in the beginning.

      Since they are the official record keepers, I'd imagine they won't play games with org politics. WBO/WBA still get to keep their belts, so it's much ado over nothing...

        Boxrec protested Bridgerweight after the WBA adopted BW so the WBA recognized FightFax which pissed off Boxrec who then refused to acknowledge WBA titles in their records.

        The wiki database in unchanged though. You can still boxrec the WBA title fights like this:
