I think Liston beats Tyson,but Tyson's hand speed would be problematic for Sonny.

I would take that one step further and say that Tyson would depend on that speed to have any effect on Liston. Even with footspeed Mike would have to hit quick when past Sonny's jab because Liston had underated technical skills punching. He did not telegraph and usually threw combinations.

Wait another one of those threads where you can tell the people who are commenting never watched boxing a day in their lives but are repeating what they heard other people say. Liston in his prime got beat by 180 pound Marty Mashall. I don't even have to go further. No 180 pound fighter like Marshall would ever beat Tyson. In his prime 5 straight people went the distance with Liston. 3 of those guys were sub 200 pound guys. 5 straight guys never went the distance with Mike Tyson.

Liston's whole career is based around him beating 180 pound glass chin Floyd Patterson. Tyson actually beat legit 200 plus pound heavyweights be it Tony Tucker, Tony Tubbs, James "Bone Crusher" Smith, Razor Ruddock, Pinklon Thomas ect. If you want to talk about quitting Liston quit against Ali, Mike Tyson never quit until he was pushing 40. Lennox Lewis gave Tyson a beating and he didn't quit, Buster Douglas gave Tyson a beating and he didn't quit and Tyson didn't quit against Holyfield either. By the way the 6'3 1/2 230/235 pound Buster Douglas was better than the 180 pound Marty Marshall. Marty Mashall beat Liston and he went the 10 with him another time.

Would Liston lose to buster Douglas? I'm looking at Douglas record leading up to the Tyson bout. Douglas is an absolute nobody. a bum. Tyson was 24 years old! crazy
