    Running


    Rocky Marciano was one of the greatest heavyweight boxers known for his unique and intense training methods.

    He would run up a hill near his house and jog backward down to the bottom before repeating the process.

    This helped him build up his leg muscles and stamina, which were essential for boxing.

    Another famous athlete, Walter Payton, also trained in a similar way on a hill near his home.

    This training method gave Rocky power and strength that helped him fight against much larger opponents.

    He would run for around 5-6 miles daily, but when a fight was approaching, he would increase the distance to 9-10 miles and sometimes even up to 12-15 miles during the last week of his training.

    Additionally, he would take walks of 5-10 miles late in the afternoon or evening, all in the hilly terrain surrounding Grossinger's, where he trained.

    Rocky's dedication and hard work made him one of the greatest boxers ever. He understood that to become the best, he had to train harder and smarter than anyone else.

    His legacy as a great boxer still lives on today, and his training methods inspire athletes worldwide.


    In this exerpt it says Marciano started at 5 miles daily and ended at 15 miles daily. for those of you claiming he only ran 3 miles a day, please read.

    So you lied when you said during training camp he runs 15 miles per day then.

      well you changed it. You said the ENTIRE camp. now its per day. per day can mean 2 weeks, 1 week.

      For a few weeks it probably was 12-15 miles a day. It's 11:35 over here, I won't go digging through books.

      willing to bet he strung together some heavy running for a great deal of time.

      You can also just read between the lines, every boxer did this - they ramped up the running throughout camp.


      Also don't mistake my artifact ridden posts for being ******ed, you type from a phone and that is what happens.

        Your source does not say "for a few weeks". It claims "the last week". That is not "a few weeks".

        You can't just add your own words into it that you would like to be in there. Stick to what it actually claims.

        So we can conclude from your source then that for the majority of his camps he ran around 5 miles per day. Not 15 miles per day.

          yes and it also doesn't say the entire camp.

          We can conclude when he was in the peak of shape, he was running 15 miles a day

          And this is just THAT source. I am sure, many more can be dug up.

          Either way, common sense would tell you. 5 miles isn't enough for what he was doing. it's obvious.

              Ok but that still doesn't change the fact you've just tried to again claim something that isn't provided in your source.

              Your source said that FOR THE LAST WEEK of camp he would SOMETIMES even up to 12-15 miles per day.

              That is what your source says. So, stick to what it says and stop adding your own fantasy, made up things in to support your narrative.

              Unless you can provide one that does actually support what you've claimed.

                yes because it doesn't go into detail the middle of camp.

                So you think he ran 5 miles all camp, then for one week suddenly tripled his run length overnight? That seems highly unrealistic.

                  Why did Bronson not mention he upped the running to 15 miles during the peak of camp? I also made a post about his peak of camp being much more intensive. why did he purposely leave this out? and why would you back him on this?

                  If you saw Marciano fight, and said all he did was run 3-5 miles (he didn't even say 5 miles, he said 3-5 miles) and totally ommitted the fact that by the end up camp he was running 3x this much, isn't that misleading?

                    I didn't say what I think. I'm going off what your source says.

                    No, that's not true.

                    Bronson's source had no mention of the 15 miles per day. So he didn't "leave out" or "omit" anything.

                    Bronson's source was just the regime, the same one in your link. That says he ran 5 miles per day for most of his camp.
