    The Fight That Guaranteed A HOFer's Spot In The IBHOF

    Speculative thread about the fight a HOFer had that insured him a spot in the HOF. Like if he had died, retired or something happened where he wasn't able to box any longer into his known career he'd have gotten into the HOF sooner or later off of that fight & what he had done up til that fight.

    What fight got Ali, Louis, SRR, Jack Johnson, Marciano, Floyd, SRL, Hagler, Tyson, RJJ, Klitschko brothers, Ward, etc & so on....with anyone in the HOF?

                  Fun question, I'll take a shot.

                  Holyfield- Bowe II. You combine the great Cruiserweight run, then winning the title and putting some big names on the first title run resume, put him right on the precipice.

                  Avenging the loss to Bowe, while handing him his only professional defeat, and becoming one of only a few to regain the heavyweight title (and lineal), is the straw that breaks the back.
