  • Marciano's 300 lbs. Heavy Bag

I had heard about this bag, but this may be the first time I have seen it identified.

Yeah bro, I have one too. It's a fun bag to have and I'm surprised it's not standard these days for HWs. If anything they should have like a 450 given their hugeness.

Anyway, last I knew if you wanted one you had to make it but that was like 20 years ago.

Rocky is definitely one worth study. Even his haters admit he did far better than he should have.

I am, an expert on big wind bags... So anyone feel free to ask away, take a number... I learned my trade the old fashioned way, dealing with my mother in law.

Ok seriously though: There are many great ways to fashion equipment. Sometimes doing it yourself makes for better results. I build my own smaller bags using rice sacks and dried legumes. Rice is good BUT if you use it outside and it rains, you have a problem because the rice expands.

March, you have made some great insights about Marciano. I particularly like the post (paraphrasing) where you talked about how Marciano's drive and such made him one in seven generations... you were comparing these traits to some of the Greek fighters who had a history that could be looked at.

The truth is, when we look at the actual benchmarks regarding what a human being can achieve, and what we consider greatness, People like marciano remind us what people can do if they put their whole being behind a goal.

I've also heard heavy bags and fun bags used as nicknames for significant others.

                  Did you make yours?

Oh, have you heard--you and I are in kahoots? We teamed up on poor Ivich. I hadn't heard either. She says it takes two men to handle one good harpy.
