People forget Tyson used to do the D'amato shift where he'd switch from orthodox to southpaw, too.
Unfortunately Hagler never figured out when he should be switching and when he shouldn't. It cost him the Ray Leonard fight. He was physically pretty good at it, but didn't have the ring generalship to employ it to its utmost effectiveness, IMO.

Sorry just screwing around. That's Micky Mantle's HR count. RH 164, LH 372 = 536

Greatest switch hitter the game has known.

        Certain!

Not 100% sure he used it in Mancini II. Don't want to send you on a wild goose chase.
It will be a goose chase well spent!

            He took Leonard for granted.

He thought he was going to show people he was better by "outboxing" SRL & ended up giving away the 1st half of the fight fxcking around.

I really doubt it. Few would be dumb enough to take Leonard for granted. What he did was fight the wrong fight because he was not much of a thinker in the ring. Put succinctly--Hagler was a terrible ring general. He excelled in a fight, not a cute boxing match. He was in with one of the greatest thinkers in ring history. The fact that it took him four or five rounds to figure out the orthodox stance was not working, put his poor ring generalship on full display. Like you implied though, I am not even sure he had a plan beyond seek & destroy. The seeking was a lot harder than he thought it was going to be. IMO he is not quite the best middleweight ever because he would have been out thought by a several past greats.

                - - No poll was taken, but most at msg where I saw the fight thought Marv won.

                Ray ended up on vapors.

                Ducked the rematch.

Yeah, some of this lot can’t do the math…c’est la vie…

Were there any switch hitters as in bi***ual boxers ever? We've heard the stories Floyd Patterson told about his trainer Cus D'amato and his foot fetish with him. So maybe Cus.
