Nash put the Calzaghe vs Kovalev fight through the Nash machine, and Calzaghe won clear and looked incredible. Ward and Hopkins went through the same machine with scores of 116-112 Ward, 115-113 Hopkins, and 114-114. The only way I can see Joe winning this fight is by outworking Ward. I mean It's a long shot I know but Joe can keep a fast pace over 12 rounds better than most fighters.

Ward was an incredible fighter. He was put into a Round Robin as an underdog and did not only win...BUT totally dominated the competition. In his weight class nobody touched him and then he fought up and managed to beat, probably the best version of Kovalev. And for anyone saying he lost the first fight against Kovalev... show me an unbeaten fighter that never got a close gift going his way. The point is Ward was dominant in his weight class. The mean for competition at that time was off the charts, the division was full of excellent fighters.
