I don't have access to it? Then how did I post it? I literally have the article as it is written up in about 3 different newspapers. And again, there should be some of them still floating around.

You said that there wasn't even a newspaper article on it because it didn't happen. When we proved you wrong, you moved the goalpost and went silent.

It’s funny how he takes anything said by a fighter he doesn’t like literally, yet insists words spoken by Jack Johnson, actual quotes were just sarcasm or humor.

Equally funny is Mr. Happy ears takes anything positive on Johnson with no proof of it happening and twists it to his agenda. Johnson cleared $1,000 dollars in France a fight where he was lucky to keep his title, but could not fight a much more lucrative but in France with Jeannette??!! His middle name should be Jack " duck " Johnson.

Call him out and he won't produce documents while dismissing what or anyone brings to the table.

False. I've already explained what happened and corrected you when you ignored that the Moran fight was to be 1 month after the Jim Johnson fight. You never even addressed that. Just ignored it just like Ghostofklansmen does when things are proven to him.

I don't have to ignore anything. I back up everything I say with proof. You and your friend, on the other hand, do not.

His first post on here was an anonymous news clipping from over 100 years ago. No author or writer name, no follow up articles about how or why the fights didn’t come off. Johnson was good at talking about fighting Jeannette, Langford and McVey while champion, but his actions spoke otherwise. Jeannette himself said he was denied a title shot by Johnson, but he is called a liar by Travy. He also calls Langford and McVey liars too. Everyone was a liar except for Jack Johnson, who was a proven liar. Lol.

All men lie. Jack Johnson lied when he said he took a dive vs. Willard. Joe Jeannette lied when he said Johnson never offered him a shot at the title. It has been proven not only by me, but numerous posters here. But you can't handle it

Blaming Jeannette or other posters the he didn't fight Johnson despite numerous offers in numerous locations is hypocrisy.

But T does have an article where Jeffries certainly sounds like he is saying 'never would have happened.'

Fighters often change their story/what they actually believe. That is common throughout the history of the game.

What I am trying to find out is how spontaneous his 'never could have' remark was.

Spontaneous remarks can often ring more true than ones thought through.

I think, I remember, his (Jeffries) statement was made on the train ride home (I think it has been over a year since T last posted the article and I'm old so I'm not sure of my memory.), I would like to see its context again.

I am ready to change my opinion on this topic.

I still wish we could create a timeline we can agree on and then evaluate the ducking issue.
Jeffries was interviwed on the train ride home, the interviewee was English journalist and boxing author Bohun Lynch, who sparred with many champions including Fitzsimmons The quote."I couldn't have licked , him in a thousand years,,"was was from that interview.and it was printed in the Sunday Times.

When the proposed Johnson v Jeanette, title fight fell through for the 2nd time, Jeannette made a statement to the NY Times, stating that he did not blame Johnson in anyway for the fight falling through, that it was the threat of any promoter who attempted the put the fight on in NY having his licence pulled that killed the fight. The fight was viable in NY because Jeanette was a popular draw there.
