Carnera was better than either Valuev or Willard. He could actually box, even in the Baer debacle where Maxie fouled him so badly that he should have been DQ'd 25 time over, Carnera showed remarkable recovery and got back into proper boxing stance and the pretty good left jab and move style.

All the crap about him is because he was originally a simple country boy who retained much of his trusting and was unmercifully taken advantage of. He was genial and friendly ad totally unfitted for thr sirt and grime of underworld boxing.
That siad, he was only an average champion, but a GENUINE one.

Queen, I thought even you had more knowledge than that! He did not fail any test for the Wlad fight. He "needed" that to beat the incredible Christian Hammer, who he must have needed it for. Wow! So, so wrong. Live and learn, Queen. Now you know. Nash out.

My recollection is that the test came out as a FAIL but not until the fight was long over. The Commission did nothing about reversing the verdict or ruling NC. they were derelict in their actions.
