  • Mike Tyson getting flustered by Mathis Jr with inside fighting

Here we have a chubby light heavy who doesn't serve a chance in hell against Mike, Makes him miss and counters him, smothers him - completely nullifies Mikes style and exposes his lack of inside fighting ability. He eventually loses not because of Mikes skills, but because he gasses out and gives up. In other words he never came to win in the first place. That's besides the point though, the style match up is.

Tell me after watching that if you think Mike is gonna deal with Frazier or Rocky.. Nobody is saying Rocky or Joe is faster or hits harder than Mike, i'll leave that debate up for grabs since we can't prove it. My point here is showing how Mike reacts when he's forced to fight in the pocket. Mikes speed and power were never make a mark because his Cus' d amato style won't work, and he's not tougher than both Rocky and Joe. Mikes only chance is to sleep Joe or Rocky cold that they can't get up. I don't see this happening, I don't see Mike landing a perfect shot like that.

This is how Holyfield beat him, rather easily.

    Tyson vs Mathis Jr

Frazier vs Quarry (Frazier vs a 6 footer)

Marciano vs Moore (I used this for a ref because Moore is only a bit taller than Mike and attempts to fight in the pocket, but they have completely different styles. Moore struggles to land on Rocky's crafty and elusive inside fighting style. Add to the fact that Moore is a master at rolling shots and Mike is not. Where Mike wins is he will take a better shot and he's stronger. Moore is certainly a better counter puncher though. I don't think Mike will fold right away, he's proven enough that he can take punishment to some degree. I also noticed Moore tries to box rocky, which is something Mike won't do. Mike only goes forward. which means its inside fighting all night, like vs Holy.

At the very best it's a slugging match, Both Joe and Rocky are known to turn it up as the fight goes on.

What's the argument on mike getting a W? his only chance is a prefect shot. Both Joe and Rocky known to be extremely difficult to stop.

    - - U still a noob, or just a B00B?

Buster a heavy boned, thicker fighter than a rusty post prison Tyson on experimental psych sedatives bulls Tyson around landing a few meaningless shots until Mike finally times him and it's lights out. Buster never came in with a Holyfield butt in a classic nose to nose encounter where he took his first loss. He was never the same fighter after.

Previous he had pressed Big Dummy hard enough to commit a grievous foul that anyone else would've seen Dummy DQed save this being Jersey, one of the premiere corrupt commishes in the US then and now.

Maybe take a logic course down at the local community college might improve U understanding of boxing.

How is buster mathis jr a thicker heavy boned fighter? He looks like a chubby light heavy, and not even a big strong one at that. And he can’t bust a g**** in a food fight.

you better not be talking about Douglas and didnt even watch the video

Mathis was a very good boxer, but his downfall was his lack of power which allowed top tier fighters the ability to trade with him without fear of being seriously hurt.

I agree he did give Tyson some trouble, but I'm not convinced either Marciano or Frazier go the distance with Mike. At his best he didn't just come forward, but slid to both the left and right to create angles for his power punches. I do think both would be tougher fights than Mathis jr by far, because as you pointed out both were certainly tougher and with more power. I can totally see your reasoning though.

            - - Bigger than Tyson the whole of his career coming from a big boned giant daddy of the day, he was over 175 by age 14.

Big and strong enough to bull a rusty Mike around, and it's U dummy that didn't watch the video. Tyson KOed Jr hard for a 10 count.

It's sorta like, what, U suddenly found out U 7th grade graduation certificate was a fake?

Tyson was not an inside fighter but a mid-range one. He continually steps back and pivots, trying to get the right distance and angle. Usually fought poorly out of clinches, but with occasional success, especially from the uppercut..

Yeah everyone knows this yet somehow magically think Mike will dominate an inside fight against joe and rocky, in a fight that would most certainly be inside 95 percent of the time. The other 5 percent when they walk out from their corners and meet

Yes, Tyson was not a good inside fighter and always seemed content to just clinch up, waiting for the break, so that he could re-engage at mid range

                    - - U magically making ups shyte scenarios while proven to be unable to process the fight action in front of U makes a poor case for Joe and Rocky.

They'd fare better if U took up tiddlywinks.
