    Is Lomachenko one of these?.......

    Just asking.
.....Getting the big Boxing media push as a great of the era, even after the subtle and not-so subtle signs of being "Overrated" begin to appear?
You know who we're talking about. Generally very good fighers who live for a time near the top end neighborhood of the "Pound4Pound" list, then faulter, sometimes precipitously. Thought, at least by some; with abundant enthusiasm to be future Hall of Famers/All-Time Great, but then other things happened.
Some candidates for this sort of "Premature Ordainment" might be.........

    Kelly Pavlik
    Lloyd Honeyghan
    Chocolatito Gonzalez
    Shinsuki Yamanaka
    Rid**** Bowe
    Giovani Segura
    Jermain Taylor
    Milton McCrory
    Sergey Kvalev
    Arthur Abraham
    Len Stinger Hutchins
    Jeff Lacey
    Kell Brook
    Antonio Tarver
    Greg Page
    Howard Davis Jr.
    Amir Khan
    Adrean Broner
    Jeff Candy Slim Merritt
    James Shuler
    Sumbu Kalamday
    Jorge Linares
    Guillermo Rigondeaux
    Mike Colbert

    ......etc.

Yes. Donald Curry and Mike Tyson are two more for your list. Strong arguments can also be made for Roy Jones Jr, and James Toney. Nash out.

I prefer to evaluate a fighter after he has retired.Ithink its possible Loma spent too long as an amateur and his now on the down slope ala GGG,

No. He was a champion in 3 weight classes in just his first 12 pro fights. Look at all of the opponents who were all of his detractors thought would beat him...Russell Jr., Walters, Rigo, Linares, Pedraza. It wasn't just that he was winning, it was how he was winning. How many opponents just up and quit against him out of pure frustration and being outclassed? The stoppages against larger, stronger opponents. In comparison, fighters like Pavlik and Kovalev were one-dimensional. I wouldn't include Chocolatito on that list either.

Loma was also avoided by Tank (who I feel will be a candidate for your list), and refused a rematch by the two fighters who beat him. We'll see how his story ends if and when he returns to the ring.

I think Ivich nailed it in regards to Loma spending too long in the amateurs relative to others who build up a pro resume. I wonder to what extent we would think differently about Kovalev had he been given the decision in Ward I (which is how many viewed it, and not a stretch). I don't think I'd include Chocolatito in that list, he had beaten Estrada and was undefeated until he was nearly 30- which aint bad for that weight class.
