  • Boxing Injuries: Public Opinion Poll

I was reading on some platform called "Highlight Reels"

The poll question read which sport has the worst injuries.

I cheated I chose football even though I figured it's probably boxing, I felt people were letting football off the hook.

    About 2.7K votes.

    Football 60%
    Boxing 20%
    Hockey 15%
    Basketball 3%
    Baseball 2%

So I guess football isn't getting a pass from the public.

My gut feeling is, even though football is bad, boxing is probably still more damaging to the man.

      - - Boxing more injurious from a brain standpoint, and then racking up leg injuries from unneeded running traditionally used for fighters who mostly not predisposed to running to begin with.

Football is the don't play fair sport where the 200lb receiver leaps up to catch a pass as 2 opposing defensive backs lay into him from top to bottom opposing directions. Running backs similar going against behemoths, and keep in mind everyone of these suckers are steroid enhanced with modern equipment designed to maximize impacts = brain injuries + wholesale body wastage. Many retired footballers are barely functional in a physical sense. Earl Campbell who took and gave no quarter been using a walker when not wheelchair bound for over 20 years now, but at least on appearences still seems to still have his wits and quite popular with "The People."
