    Boxers lifespans

Dempsey and Tunney lived into their 80's. Marvin Hagler and Juan Roldan fought a great fight in the 1980's and both passed away in their 60's. Why do some modern fighters have a shorter lifespan? Are modern athletes using drugs that take years off their lifespan? With improved healthcare the lifespans should at least hold steady.

    - - Marv taking the Corona Jab the opposite of improved healthcare.

Roldan was a heavy abuser of alcohol and drugs.

    You're Welcome!!!

That was my point. Modern athletes are dying earlier and I believe it is abuse from drugs. Whether if be recreational or PED's.

That seems like a ridiculously small sample size to base such a large assumption on. Do you have more data, or just the few you listed?

It is just an example. PED's are know to cause heart problems. With many modern athletes using them it will cause problems later on for some people. 95% of people who die with Covid also had comorbidities.

I know its just an example, thats why i asked if there was any more data. You would need a significant amount of data points to get any valid answer.

We could all cherry pick outlier examples to try and cite defend almost any point- it happens on the internet all the time (and this site is no different). I doubt that in general boxers lifespans have been significantly diminished compared to decades ago, but I bet people will site small anecdotes to defend their opinions on this.

Exactly. I haven't noticed what he's talking about. Most of the heavyweights from 80s and 90s are still around and they did just about everything.

                  - - All proven is U can't last a minute of single round much less 15 for always getting KOed.

When I was in high school I saw an overturned van roof freshly crimsoned after a rollover of the unfortunate schoolmate driver, now lifeless d****d in a sheet on the ground.
Proves high schoolers don't live long, so modern athletes are living longer because most too dumb to go to highschool...you're welcome.

So do you have data to support that?
