  • Supernumerary Perfect Records

    - -This guy with some big names on his record-
    https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/8798

Others include Edwin Valero, 27 fights, 27 wins, 27 KOs for 3 perfect cubes of 3.

Another me aulde AOL buddy Bennie Henderson, 2 fights, 2 wins, 2 KOs and 2 minutes of Ring time. Benny went into training to lose 50 lbs for his pro debut @ 360 lbs or so, and I can vouch for Benny being a mighty big boy in the grizzly range before his debut.

I don't get it. The guy lost nine of ten fights. But, he was up there, against Leon Spinks and Greg Page.
And in his second fight against Terry Daniels, a veteran of 58 fights (including a World title bout vs Frazier).

I like this thread. Some focus on rarely mentioned fighters. How about James “Quick” Tillis. He never hesitated
sharing the ring with a lot of household names, when they were in their prime.

His courage makes him an ATG to me.

(Tillis vs Mike Weaver, Earnie Shavers, Pinklon Thomas, Greg Page, Tim Witherspoon, Carl Williams, Marvis Frazier,
Gerrie Coetzee, Tyrell Biggs, Mike Tyson, Joe Bugner, Frank Bruno, Evander Holyfield, Gary Mason, Adilson Rodrigues,
    Tommy Morrison ...)

      - -Bennysan, 10 fights, 10 rounds, 10 KOs, all in the 1st round including his sole win.

Thread about supernumerary statistical records, not necessarily great fighters though Valero had established himself as great in his day.

Benny was close with Lamon Brewster if I remember correctly. Also wrote for another boxing website though the name escapes me. He was well like by all on the AOL forums.

OK, wasn't logged in to boxrec, so I couldn't see the stats (KO 1, KOby 9 times in 1st round).

Still, I find it boring reading allover again about Dempsey, Louis and Ali on this forum.
What about all the forgotten challengers (and forgotten champions), who have flourished over the decades.

To make a great champion, it requires great challengers. Sadly, the latter often fall into oblivion.

How the hell do you pull these out of you butt? It's not something one can research, just need to keep it in mind and notice it when it passes by.

              - -Call it News of the Weird Records.

I've been a stat guy from my earliest inception what with printed fight records and endless baseball box scores and baseball cards. That's 90% of how I was able to read before entering Kindergarten and my eldest was the same way, only he used my monthly National Geographics for a more international look at the world not that newsprint lacking international in my day.

I knew this would be the perfect thread for Bundana to show his amazing nerdy knowledge.

                    Good stuff, as usual.
