I’m only talking about boxers. And only boxers who have fought each other more than once.

        Jab V. Queensbury

The no duck, no quit attitudes; the infinite redundancies; its saga like length; and most of all the non sequitur replies.

20x they fought, so more than Sam & Joe. Not as many total fights as the Langford Wills 22, but with 224 rounds between them I think Lewis and Britton spent more time in the ring against each other than any others.

            1) High level of talent
            2) Multiple good/engaging fights
            3) Relatively close throughout (not dominated by one side)

Based on those criteria, which ones are your favorites?

Good choices, we have a lot to agree on evidently. I think another sign of an excellent rivalry is how mutually beneficial it is for both fighters. Do either combatants grow as boxers after encountering each other? Do they become one of the biggest highlights of each other’s careers? Do they play a part in propelling one another to superstar status and cementing each other’s legacies?
You’ll notice that this something all the rivalries we both listed have in common.
