Marquez goes down too easy, and if this is at lightweight where Juan Diaz rocked Marquez then Duran smokes him within 10. Marquez may have heart but he wouldn't be able to stop Hands of Stone.

Vilomar Fernandez was a very good boxer, who outboxed Alexis Arguello comfortably. And Roberto Duran pretty much beat Vilomar Fernandez comfortably, although Vilomar Fernandez was spirited.

Now im not saying Vilomar Fernandez is a better fighter, but he was a very good boxer. And if he couldn't really be effective, against a prime Roberto Duran i don't see how JMM could.

You don't think Marquez might change that tactic if he fought someone like Duran? I mean, Marquez has never been KOed/TKOed - but then again he's never fought someone with power like Duran.
What makes you say that? He was only ever legitimately stopped twice, once by one of the the hardest punchers ever p4p in Hearns and once by Joppy when he was 47. And remember Duran was a natural lightweight.

I'd say Duran had a fantastic chin.

Duran by TKO. Pretty unfair fight if you ask me.

Anyway, bad fight for JMM. Diaz's pressure had him in trouble and Diaz even stunned him a few times. I think Duran stops him in 8 in an entertaining and kind of competitive fight, but in the long run JMM just can't hold up under the pressure Duran continues to bring.

imo, the fight ends earlier than 8. JMM takes a few rounds to adjust to his opponent, but Duran had too much power, so when JMM gets knocked down in the 2nd or 3rd he wont be able to get up to make the necessary adjustments because will be laid out cold. just my opinion tho.

Duran would've been able to get inside and stay inside against Marquez without getting hit by pinpoint counters like Diaz, Duran by knockout.
