If Arguello had been a natural LWW his punch would have taken Pryor out two separate times in their first match-up.

I don't see any other fights that places Pryor in an elite category maybe Kim, but one can't trust an impressive mostly Asian record, we just can't assess the competition.

I can see how one might view Pryor as devastating when thinking head to head fights because he often looked awesome but there is virtually no resume to speak of.
Pryor doesn't have the resume (as a pro, as an amateur he did get some scalps) but if you put every 140 lb great at their peak in a time machine and had a tournament my boxing eye tells me he would come out on top or close to it.

      - -Pryor a natural lightweight not getting title offers moves up to jrwelt to obliterate Cervantes.

          - -11-0, 9KO title record, 3-0, 3KO vs HOFers, and more importantly thanks to SRL horrid manipulations, makes Leonard look like he was ducking Pryor. Can't KO a guy who don't wanna fight...

I just rewatched Chavez lose practically every round to Whitaker and get a crooked draw anyway.

Kostya Tszyu was a very good fighter at 140. But I don't think he was the best, though.

That fight was at welterweight not light welter.

Pryor also needed Panama Lewis’ “special water” that he mixed himself to pull it out against Arguello in their first fight. For that he loses big points with me. That and a very lackluster resume.

                    - -Full welter where JC never won a title.

Put your dentures in and watch Pea clown away a fight he could have easily won had he chosen to actually fight. No clown points under the rules of boxing scoring...

Was Tszyu the first to unify he whole division?
