  • Fights which you liked (or disliked) both fighters and it didn’t matter to you who won?

Anyone recall fights where you either liked or disliked both fighters and the outcome didn’t matter to you, just wanted to see a good fight?

The ones where I liked both fighters:

    Holyfield v Tyson
    Mosley v De La Hoya
    Trinidad v Oscar
    Vazquez v Marquez rivalry
    Thurman v Porter
    Spence v Porter

    The 1983 Holmes–Witherspoon clash.

I supported both guys, as I had followed their respective pro careers from early years.

Actually, I didn’t like they faced each other, and could not fully enjoy the encounter.
It’s more fun watching a fight, when it’s clear to you who you’ll be rooting for.

Its funny you cite Thurman v Porter, when I read your thread title that was my first thought of a recent fight that fit that bill. I feel as if I was fairly neutral for the Manny v Marquez fights and just looking for a good scrap. I usually don't like to see two fighters go at it if I am a big fan of both.

When I am neutral, I tend to pull for the fighter whose win I think would be better for the sport as a whole.

I wanted to participate here but I have never been able to go into a fight neutral. Even when I would go to the local clubs - the first 4 rounder and I would end up liking and pulling for one over the other even thought I just saw both of them for the first time as they entered the ring. I guess I'm a judgemental ****.

Most football games I watch just like that with no vested interest just looking for a good game. Can t seem to do that with the fights. I get emtionally involved quick.
