The fans were suing because Pacquiao faked a shoulder injury. But feel free to lie about it. Just doesn't work on me
    - -On the record son, U sissyboy junior refused the drug testing offer because he didn't want to pay $5 mil when it was cheaper to lard Nevada commish pockets, a smarty bizman!

Engraved in stone that Manny had shoulder surgery after the fight, and prefarce sissyboy junior hired Ariza fer the gory details and Manny shakes.

U ever enter any Air Guitar competitions? Bad Gas Smackdowns?

But I thought USADA was paid off to help him cheat. So why would he be worried about paying $5million? You think $5million was going to hurt Floyd Maywather.

If that's the case, what about reports that Pacquiao was asking what the consequences would be if he failed during the first negotiation? Hmmm.

Yea, Pacquiao had surgery to clean up his shoulder, just like Mayweather had surgery after the Berto fight to clean up his shoulders. Anyone with a brain knows that wasn't a full rotator cuff tear or he wouldn't have been swimming, playing basketball, and claiming he was healed by God and salt water instead of going to rehab

It's really an unspoken smoking gun when Floyd turns down a proposed $5M penalty for a failed drug test. He had absolutely nothing to lose if he was in fact fighting clean. His relationship with USADA was already suspect. The IV was the icing on the cake.

Maybe it was a "trick of the trade" like those Dempsey handwraps

Trick of the trade? It was a straight forward proposal. Absolutely no reason to decline it, unless he felt there was some reason he could possibly fail a test.

There was no reason to accept it. If either of them fail a test, the fight would be canceled. They would lose much more than $5million.

Here's Bob Arum's take on it.

Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum was quizzed about the potential $5 million agreement last week and said he understood the reason Mayweather's camp would not accept was because if either side did fail a drug test, the other camp would be able to sue for far more than $5 million.

If either of them fail a test the fight is cancelled regardless. That's the point of testing. Floyd would not fight Manny if he tested positive, his daddy feared for his son's life. In hindsight we now know why he refused the $5M penalty.

And Manny wouldn't fight Floyd if he tested positive, so what's the point?

They believed this statement was put out only for some publicity. The contract was already signed at this point, so no way they were going to go back and trash it after trying to get their signatures on the contract for years. Second, they were going to fleece Pacquiao for much more than $5 million if he failed that test, just like Bob Arum mentioned. And I assume vice versa.

I believe it is obvious from all the sources and testimonials since the fight that Mayweather was juicing and had to avoid committing to giving up any money if caught.

Of course he would have lost the fight if caught juicing but the contract would have caused him to pay a 5 million penalty besides losing the 100 million payday.

The preponderance of evidence strongly suggests that Mayweather was a cheat.

Great post. Throughout his career there were rumblings of illegal injections for his delicate hands that were sealed from the public.

A fighter of his caliber would not dehydrate himself on the eve of the biggest fight of his career to the extent he needed an illegal IV to rehydrate. As many experts have already noted, a bottle of Gatorade or pedialyte would have been more than sufficient. He was obviously masking PEDs.

What better way to deflect attention away from your own PED use, than to develop a questionable relationship with USADA to give the illusion you are clean and wanting to clean up boxing? Then accuse a fighter who you are pressured to fight of using A-side meth and steroids. Said fighter wins an out of court settlement, agrees to full testing and the excuses continue for another four years as Manny suffers a lot of wear and tear from tougher fights. Then, Floyd himself admits he marinated the fight for five years and deserved credit for being smart and making it a bigger fight, a glaring admission that he was the one who ducked and dodged all those years starting in 2009.
