Moore was a hot prospect. He had much richer amateur pedigree than Canelo. Duran was the 5-2 underdog in that fight, whereas Mayweather was the 3-1 favorite for the Canelo fight. You can't be quick do dismiss Duran's win over Moore without dismissing Floyd's win over Canelo.

Duran held 2 wins over DeJesus, and KO'd Cuevas. He became MW champ at age 37 or 38 against Barkley.

If you're benchmark for greatness is defeating other undefeated fighters, Floyd only defeated 3, or 4 if you really want to count McGregor, or six if you count two others who were making their pro debut, ha! Manny defeated 9 of them. Spinks had a highly controversial win over Holmes, which I give him all the credit in the world, but then the Tyson haters come along and dismiss his win over Spinks because he was a natural LHW. Everyone has an axe to grind. But there certainly is a place for Spinks in the top 5 greatest living fighters today. He is one of the greatest LHWs without question.

Anyways, I would still rate a win over prime Leonard and handing him his first loss over a win against undefeated Holmes. Unless you're the only kid on the planet who ranks Holmes over Leonard. A win over 24 year old Moore is certainly as good or better than the win over a 22 year old Canelo. Remember, according to Floyd, Tank was "too young" at even 23 or 25 to fight Loma. Moore was the 154 champion and successfully defended his title three times before facing Duran. Duran was the 5-2 underdog, while Canelo was the 3-1 underdog.

He fought them two years after the rematch with Leonard. He was closer to his best when he fought them than Manny was when he fought Floyd. His lack of training discipline is what did him in, not his age.
